Dr. Lauren Cormier

Born in Halifax and Raised in Cape Breton

I have just returned “home” this winter after eight years abroad studying and practicing in the UK. Prior to setting off to see the world, I attended Mount Allison University, where I completed a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in psychology and biology. Not wanting to mask symptoms with pharmaceuticals, but wanting to help people restore their health, chiropractic, was the logical decision.  After graduating from the renowned Anglo-European College of Chiropractic I stayed in England, practicing in and around London for nearly three years.

Proud To Be a Family Chiropractor

Who enjoys treating people of all ages;  my youngest patient thus far was just six days old!  Everyone can benefit from chiropractic care whether it’s an achy neck in your sixties, your infant child that won’t sleep, a relentless migraine, or to stay ahead of game, maintaining good spinal health and an optimally functioning nervous system.

Nutrition and Vitamin Deficiencies

My topic for my masters dissertation looked at how vitamin D deficiency affects the development of multiple sclerosis and autoimmune diseases so don’t be surprised if I rhyme off a dozen reasons why everyone should be supplementing with vitamin D!  Other special interests include colic and sleep problems in babies and children, children with ADHD, pregnancies, the elderly, migraines and chronic neck pain.  Personalised  to each  patient, I use several different techniques, from traditional diversified adjusting to the even greater ( no clicking ) Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) and Activator/ instrument adjusting.

On a Personal Note

My partner Paul, who is also a chiropractor, and I enjoy having an active life, spending time in nature, cooking healthy food, reading up on the ever changing world of nutrition, fermenting kombucha and kefir, attending continuing education seminars, and traveling as much as possible. I am a member of the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors, the Canadian Chiropractic Association and registered with the General Chiropractic Council (UK).
